About a week ago we were able to go on one of the most popular boat tours here called the Tracy Arms Tour. We went about 80 miles out of Juneau to the Sawyer and South Sawyer Glaciers.
We also saw tons of wildlife...
Sea Lions...
Seals... He was posing for us...
And this little cuddly friend.... This is one of may bears that we've seen already. He was the first. The second my husband saw cross the road right in front of where we work and didn't want me to be scared... So... I, unknowingly, walked with him home from work just minutes after he saw it... He didn't tell me until the next day! Oh brother! He didn't want me to be scared... There goes my morning runs without him... Don't want to get gobbled up! And our third and fourth bears were seen outside the window of... any guesses?.. Relief Society and Elder's Quorum! Before we knew it the whole ward was out of their classes taking pictures of the big black bear and little brown one outside... Only in Juneau.
Here are some more photos of our day
The glaciers break off at this time of year and we were able to witness many big chunks crash into the water. The biggest one we saw was at the South Sawyer Glacier and it was about the size of a house that fell off! Yeah it made a big splash! Sounded like thunder!

Bikes
We've spent our last few days biking the town, we've biked to the Glacier and a few grocery stores. We even found a cute little chair at a thrift store. A nice man in our ward let us borrow his bikes and we have loved them.

Downtown
The other morning before work we took a trip Downtown. It was Juneau appreciation day and the tram was only $10 to ride. We love Downtown. It reminds us of a mix between Park City and Old San Juan Puerto Rico. There are lots of tourist shops and fun things to look at. The tram takes you straight up the mountain to some shops and a restuarant.
This was one of the first views we saw from within the tram
It was absolutely gorgeous! There was a lot of fog up top so we weren't able to get the full effect but we saw enough.

A Sunny Day
Today marks the first day that Kody and I have seen a sunny day here in Alaska. It is always bright here however its just very overcast and usually rains. We've learned to say, "When do you think it will rain today." instead of, "Do you think it will rain today?" But it is so beautiful that the overcast days are just as pretty as the sunny ones. I even caught myself the other day saying, "Kod, I almost don't want the sun to come out today, I just love the feel of this day." The day seems to be more slow paced and cozy. Its the same feeling of having a rainy Saturday when you know you have nowhere to be and you can just cuddle up inside and read a book. Imagine that feel everyday, it's beautiful.

1st day in Juneau
Our 1st day in Juneau has been a blast! We get to stay in the bed and breakfast for a few days while they finish our place. It is completely gorgeous! Such a cute little get-a-way! Its an old vintage style house with about 14 rooms.
Such a big room with real live feather beds!
It's been pretty rainy today-the locals say it's really wet and cold for this time of year, so hopefully it starts to warm up a little. The current temp is about 39 degrees so not too bad but still a little chilly. We were able to train a little bit today in the Country Lane Inn. It was pretty busy this morning but we were able to learn a few. Still not sure on our work schedule but hoping to find that out soon. In the mean time it's going to be a cozy night in with the sound of rain trickling outside.
We went for a drive around town today and saw the beautiful ocean and a few stores. There aren't too many businesses here, I guess a lot of people do clothes shopping online but there are enough businesses to get by. We are realizing real quickly that we may need to purchase some rain jackets, haha! We were warned that umbrella's=tourist, and we don't want to look like tourists :). Anyways all is well here! We love you all!
